O Premieres!

Solo Piano

About

Commissioned works and premieres by today's most exciting composers juxtaposed with works by pioneers of the 20th century.

The programs sampled on this page reflect the links between pioneering American composers and the composers who inherited their iconoclasm. Representative programs include:

  • new works interspersed with studies by Charles Ives;

  • the work of young composers paired with senior contemporary music masters;

  • or a kaleidoscope of works, ranging from those rooted in 20th-century modernist classicism to the avant-garde

Rhythmically inventive, dramatic, and colorful, these programs invite new and initiated audiences alike to experience compelling contemporary music.

Berman wishes to thank Dinosaur Annex Music Ensemble for sponsoring many of these original programs.
