When Brahma Sleeps

Electro-Acoustic Works for Solo Piano

About

From boombox to computer processor, When Brahma Sleeps is an electro-acoustic program for recital halls, black box theaters, and alt-classical clubs. With titles by Sarah Jane Lapp and interactive, surround sound works by Mark Wingate, When Brahma Sleeps is an eclectic array of tour-de-force keyboard works — including Su Lian Tan's "shuffle play" U-Don Rock, David Rakowski's Chase for celesta and piano, Eric Moe’s bop-infused Dance of the Honey Monkey, and Eric Chasalow’s classic tape and piano pearl, Due (Cinta)mani. This program — featuring a flexible and expandable rep list — is funny and serious, earthly and sublime.

Sponsored in part by the Argosy Foundation for Contemporary Music.
